Image Competition Roundtable

ISAP Image competition co-chairs, Danica Barreau, M.Artist, M.Photog. Cr., CPP, MAI, and Ellen Zangla, M.Photog., CPP, MAI, will be leading a roundtable discussion of ISAP’s April 2 image competition. This will be an interactive discussion (audience participation encouraged!) as they review:

• ISAP's first image competition (held in 2024)
• Categories and descriptions, including changes from last year
• Rules and submission guidelines 
• The twelve elements with judges' commentary
• Awards!!

New and seasoned competitors will benefit from attending and are welcome. Come with your questions! 

Danica Barreau is a PPA Master Artist, Master of Photography, Photographic Craftsman, AIM Master of Animal Imagery, and Certified Professional Photographer. Her studio, Pouka Art & Photography, located in Grove City, Ohio, specializes in pet photography and digital art. Danica has been photographing pets for rescues since 2005 and opened her studio in 2015. She is an eight-time Grand Imaging Award finalist, a published author, a PPA National Award recipient, and the Ohio Artist of the Year for five years running. She shares her home with multiple dogs, a schoolteacher, and an undisclosed number of cats. 

Ellen Zangla specializes in outdoor pet photography, including families with their pets, action dog photography, and wildlife photography. She started her Northern Virginia-based business in 2009. She is passionate about fundraising to help animals in need and has raised more than $120,000 since 2005, including through her book, "Tails of Loudoun County." Ellen is a PPA Master of Photography and Certified Professional Photographer, and an AIM Master of Animal Imagery. She is a three-time PPA Grand Imaging Award finalist, a multiple award winner at her state PPA community network, including earning Best Photograph of a Pet for seven of the last eight years. She loves to travel and loves her family, often saying that if she had a superpower she would teleport home in the evenings after a day of shooting. She lives in Hamilton, VA with her husband, son, two dogs, and four cats.
