Prepare to immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring spectacle of the sandhill crane migration, capturing breathtaking moments through your camera lens. This exclusive weekend workshop awaits you in the picturesque landscapes of Wisconsin, just 90 minutes from the Twin Cities, promising an experience like no other.
As the sun begins its descent on a tranquil Friday afternoon, the participants will gather and venture into the field, ready to capture the enchanting beauty of the sandhill cranes in their natural habitat. However, the surprises nature has in store extend far beyond the graceful cranes. With your long lens in hand, keep a keen eye out for an array of fascinating creatures, from elegant swans and nimble terns to majestic herons and regal eagles. If luck is on your side, you might even catch glimpses of pheasants, grouse, foxes, coyotes, and the rarest of all, black bears and wolves. Nature's theater will unfold before your eyes, providing endless opportunities to test your skills and master the art of capturing wildlife in its most authentic form.
Under the expert guidance of Lisa and Liz, you will learn and practice various techniques that will revolutionize the way you photograph wildlife. Discover innovative approaches to portray these magnificent creatures, unveiling their hidden stories through your lens. As the sun makes its grand entrance on a Saturday morning, witness the breathtaking sunrise and savor the ethereal atmosphere before the birds take flight, embarking on their daily quest for sustenance. This magical moment will serve as a canvas for your creativity, allowing you to capture stunning images infused with the vibrant hues of the dawn.
As you wander through the wilderness, keep an open mind and embrace unexpected encounters with wildlife. Remain alert for rare sightings and the serendipitous moments that often unfold when least expected. The beauty of nature lies not only in the grand and majestic but also in the delicate details and intimate connections between living creatures. Seek out these hidden gems and let your lens reveal their hidden stories.
The workshop will conclude with a captivating recap and a lively Q&A session, providing you with the opportunity to share your experiences, gain valuable insights, and deepen your understanding of the art of wildlife photography. But the adventure doesn't end there! A couple of weeks later, you will reconvene with Lisa, Liz, and your fellow workshop participants in a vibrant online gathering.
